Motorcycle Rotor Blanks

Our stainless steel rotors are made from 420 stainless steel. Some of our competitors prefer 410, but we elected to use 420 stainless steel because it's stronger. It is a higher carbon version of types 410 and 416 stainless that can be hardened by heat treatment.

Its best corrosion resistance is achieved when 420 is hardened and surface ground or polished. In the hardened condition, 420 has good corrosion resistance to the atmosphere, foods, fresh water, mild alkalies and acids, steam, sterilizing solutions, crude oil, gasoline, and other similar corrosive media.

Our rotors are heat-treated to 33° - 36° +3/-3 and are satin finished. The higher carbon content employed in 420 gives higher strength and hardness over stainless grades 410 and 416.

Meet our 18" Floating Rotor

This two piece rotor is made up from a 420 stainless steel outer ring which is heat-treated two different times to produce the stopping power you want. The carrier is manufactured from 6061-T6 prime aluminum. We've put the center bore in, but we left out the button holes. The stainless steel buttons are redesigned for a cleaner look, but still do the job.

Each floating rotor includes:

  • Stainless Steel Ring (Outer)
  • Aluminum Carrier (Inner)
  • Ten (10) of each: Buttons, Washers and clips

Replacement Buttons with clip and washers are available individually.

Note: This rotor works well with Metalsport's HP Brake Caliper.
